Final Fantasy VII Remake: How to Unlock Every Dress in the Game

If you've been playing through Final Fantasy VII Remake, you've probably noticed that the game has a plethora of achievements to unlock. One of them in particular, "Dressed to the Nines" refers to unlocking every dress for Tifa, Aerith and Cloud. Each character can unlock a total of three dresses for a total of nine, hence the achievement name.

A prerequisite for unlocking this achievement is having Chapter Select, since you'll need to go back and replay certain chapters. Chapter Select is unlocked by beating the game at least once on any difficulty.

In order to gain access to all three of Tifa's dresses, players will need to complete all six of the side-quests offered by residents in Chapter Three. Once all the side quests are completed, a new prompt will appear called "Alone at Last." Players should then head back to Cloud's apartment where they are greeted by Tifa. Tifa will then ask Cloud which dress would suit her best out of three options: Mature, Exotic and Sporty.

The Mature dress is a short violet dress that is a callback to dress Tifa wore in the original Final Fantasy VII. The Exotic dress is reminiscent of a black kimono, albeit much shorter. Finally, the Sporty option gives Tifa an outfit reminiscent of Chun-Li's from Street Figther complete with the two hair buns.

Whichever one you pick determines which one Tifa will wear in Chapter Nine. However, to unlock all three, players must complete this three times in order to select every individual dress.

Like Tifa, Aerith's dress is dependent on side quests. However, Aeirth's dress will change depending on the number of side quests completed in Chapter Eight. If players complete two or fewer side quests, they will unlock Aeirth's light pink summer dress. Three or four quests complete will reward players with a pink halter dress.

Completing more than four will unlock Aerith's lavish red dress, a callback to her original dress from Final Fantasy VII. Again, the chapter must be played through three times in order to unlock all of Aerith's dresses.

Cloud's dress options are a bit more complicated to unlock. While they are dependent on the number of side quests completed in Chapter Nine, the side quests can differ based on what choices the player makes. One or fewer will give Cloud a rather simple black dress. Cloud's hair also won't be done up in a spectacular fashion either.

For the other dresses, players must unlock certain side quests from specific characters. To get the blue and black dress, players must complete the Chocobo Sam quest line. This can be unlocked by doing the following: Follow Johnny to the Honeybee Inn and agree with him, participate in the coin toss with Chocobo Sam and choose the poor man's massage at Madam M's. By completing this quest line, players will unlock two new quests: "The Party Never Stops" and "Dynamite Bodies." Completing those two additional quests will unlock the black and blue dress.

The final, most ornate dress Cloud can unlock can be unlocked by unlocking and completing two more side quests. In order to receive these two side quests, players must take these specific actions: ignore Johnny as he runs by you on the way to Don Corneo's or to disagree with him at the Honeybee Inn, decline to participate in the coin toss and pick the most luxurious massage option at Madam M's. By taking these specific actions, players will gain access to the "Prince of Thievery" and "Shears' Counterattack" quests. Complete these two quests and Cloud will unlock his last dress.

By unlocking every dress for each character, you'll have unlocked the "Dressed to the Nines" achievement.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is developed and published by Square Enix. The game is available now on PlayStation 4.
